Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Event Is a Throwback to Classic Nintendo Consoles

Pikmin Bloom is set to celebrate its 3.5th anniversary next month, and Niantic is pulling out all the stops with a nostalgic nod to classic Nintendo gadgets. The festivities kick off with a new event starting on May 1st, 2025, that promises to bring back the charm of the 80s and 90s.

The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!

Throughout its lifespan, Pikmin Bloom has delighted players with various decorative elements, such as Pikmin adorned with Mahjong Tiles and Playing Cards. This anniversary, the game introduces classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s, creating a wave of nostalgia for long-time fans.

Adding to the celebration, a Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin will be available, paying homage to Nintendo's origins in the playing card industry before they ventured into video games. The designs of these cards are inspired by Nintendo's vintage playing card decks, making them a must-have for collectors and enthusiasts.

The event will run from May 1st to May 31st, 2025, giving you an entire month to participate in missions and collect unique new Pikmin. Completing Event Challenge missions will reward you with random items like Game Button Cells, seedlings that can grow into Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.

During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will appear, which you can smash to obtain Mystery Boxes containing Game Button Cells, flower petals, and other goodies. The Nintendo Consoles ‘80-‘95 or Playing Card Decor Pikmin are especially effective at taking down these mushrooms.

Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May

May brings an array of beautiful flowers to Pikmin Bloom. By planting red, yellow, white, or blue petals around them, these flowers can bloom into carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or the special anniversary roses.

A nectar update is also part of the May festivities. Fruit obtained from mushrooms during this month will provide nectar for regular flowers, as well as for the special blooms like carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.
