Bandai Namco made a major announcement last night, focusing on something small yet significant: Little Nightmares 3 has been confirmed for an October 10 release. If that feels like a long wait, here's some good news: anyone who pre-orders a digital copy of Little Nightmares 3 will gain early access to Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, allowing them to revisit the original game before the sequel's launch.

That's not all—a new season of the Little Nightmares podcast series, The Sounds of Nightmares, is on the way, along with a comic book titled Little Nightmares: Descent to Nowhere, also launching in October. But first, a young adult novel called Little Nightmares: The Lonely Ones arrives in September. Quite a lot to take in, right?

Published by Titan Comics, Little Nightmares: Descent to Nowhere unfolds two parallel stories. Hush, a timid mute girl, wakes up in a prison cell. Desperate to break free, she teams up with another inmate, Mono, who knows this world far better than she does. Together, they must find an escape route from a deeply ominous dungeon.

On the other hand, the novel Little Nightmares: The Lonely Ones, written by E.C. Myers and published by Scholastic, follows Ruse, a young child who wakes up in an unfamiliar, shaking room with two other children she doesn't recognize—a small girl with a frayed rope around her neck, and a gaunt-looking boy wearing a tattered mask over his mouth and nose.

There was another surprise reveal: Bandai Namco also shared a teaser for a stop-motion project developed in partnership with Taller del Chucho studio. While details are scarce for now, the company has promised more information will be "unveiled" at a later date.

Little Nightmares 3—marking the first entry in the series developed by Supermassive—is scheduled to launch on PC, PS5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X and S, as well as last-gen systems including the Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders are live now for all platforms except the Switch version, which will be available at a "later date." Here's what each edition of Little Nightmares 3 includes:

All Little Nightmares 3 Editions

Collector Mirror Edition — builds on the Deluxe Edition by adding a figurine, a metal case, a physical artbook, the soundtrack in both digital and physical formats, and a set of stickers. All pre-orders will grant the Dark Six Costumes Set across all platforms, along with early access to Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition. We also learned that The Secrets of The Spiral Expansion Pass will introduce at least two additional chapters to explore.

And there's more—we also caught a first look at an all-new VR adventure titled Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes, developed by Iconik Studios.

We thought Little Nightmares 2 was a solid title, giving it a 7/10. In our review, we noted: "Little Nightmares 2 is every bit as dark, atmospheric, and visually striking as the original. It's also just as brief, and while reintroducing Six as an AI-controlled companion serves the narrative well, she isn't leveraged to evolve the game’s puzzle or stealth mechanics—a true missed opportunity."
