Hotta Studios' upcoming 3D open-world RPG, Neverness to Everness, is gearing up for its first closed beta test. Unfortunately, this initial test will be exclusive to mainland China.
Gematsu recently highlighted some newly revealed lore details, which shouldn't surprise those familiar with the Eibon city trailers (shown below). The updates delve deeper into the game's comedic story elements and showcase the intriguing blend of the bizarre and ordinary within the Hetherau setting.
Hotta Studios, a subsidiary of Perfect World (creators of the successful Tower of Fantasy), is venturing into a 3D RPG landscape increasingly focused on urban environments. However, Neverness to Everness distinguishes itself with unique features.
One standout feature is open-world driving. Players can enjoy high-speed city chases, customizing and purchasing a variety of vehicles. Realistic damage models add to the immersive experience.
The game faces considerable competition upon release. Titles like MiHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero and NetEase's Ananta (formerly Project Mugen), both developed by Naked Rain, have set a high bar for mobile 3D open-world RPGs. Neverness to Everness will need to stand out to succeed in this crowded market.
