Capcom recently hosted an exciting Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase, unveiling a wealth of new content for the latest installment in the Monster Hunter series. The spotlight was on Title Update 1, set to launch on April 4, 2025, as a free update for all Monster Hunter Wilds players. Alongside this update, a variety of free and paid DLC will be available, enhancing the game with new hubs, armor, cosmetics, and formidable monsters.

The showcase kicked off with a detailed look at the new endgame hub for hunting parties, aptly named the Grand Hub. This new area offers a range of activities to enjoy, from feasting together and arm wrestling to enjoying nightly performances by the Diva. Additionally, a fun Barrel Bowling mini-game awaits, where players can earn vouchers and rewards through various in-game activities. To unlock the Grand Hub, reach Hunter Rank 16 and speak with Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord.
A major highlight of Title Update 1 is the introduction of the elegant yet dangerous Mizutsune. This monster brings swift tail strikes and powerful water jets to the battlefield. To encounter Mizutsune, reach Hunter Rank 21 or above and head to the Scarlet Forest to speak with Kanya for the quest. Successful hunts will reward you with new gear to craft.
An exciting new Event Quest will introduce Arch-tempered Rey Dau, a challenge that surpasses the usual Tempered fights. Hunters at HR 50 or above can take on this formidable foe and earn new armor upon victory. Additionally, Zoh Shia, previously a one-time fight in the main story, will be available for repeated battles through new quests, also accessible at HR 50, with new armor to craft.
Speedrunners will find their niche with the introduction of Arena Quests, designed for competitive play. Both Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests will be available, with pendants awarded for participation and achievement. Access these quests through the counter in the new Grand Hub.
Alma, the dedicated handler, is getting a stylish upgrade with new cosmetic options. Players can change Alma's attire through an appearance menu in camp, with one new outfit available for free. Completing a specific side mission will also allow you to swap out Alma's glasses.
Alongside Title Update 1, a mix of free and paid DLC will be released. Classic gestures from previous Monster Hunter games will be freely available in the store, while the Cosmetic DLC Pack 1, accessible through the store or with the Cosmetic DLC Pass or Premium Deluxe Edition, will offer additional cosmetic options. New stickers and looks for Alma are also on the horizon.
The game will see the addition of more Event Quests and Seasonal Events. During these special time windows, the Grand Hub will transform, and unique meals will be available. Limited equipment, gestures, decorations, and more will be up for grabs. The first Seasonal Event, the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, starts on April 23, featuring pink cherry blossoms and new decor. Capcom has confirmed that most previous events and Event Quests will return in the future.
Title Update 1 will roll out on April 3 for U.S. players, followed by the Blossomdance event on April 22. The challenging Arch-tempered Rey Dau will arrive on April 29, and by the end of May, additional features and a Capcom collaboration will be introduced.
The showcase concluded with a sneak peek at Title Update 2, slated for this summer. While no specific date was announced, a teaser image hinted at the return of the fan-favorite Lagiacrus, the underwater leviathan, set to cause chaos on the surface.
