LEGO has unveiled its largest Jurassic World set to date: an impressive T-rex skeleton that measures over three feet in length. This set includes minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, beloved characters from the iconic Jurassic Park film, where the skeleton is prominently displayed in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, the set will be available for purchase at the LEGO Store starting March 12 for LEGO Insiders (sign up for free here) and March 15 for the general public.
Release Date: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
Price: $249.99
Pieces: 3,145
Ages: 18+
Dimensions: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)
This set, designed for adult enthusiasts, comprises 3,145 pieces and is tailored for display rather than play. It may incorporate advanced building techniques that could challenge younger builders.
It's challenging to grasp the scale of this set from photos alone. The inclusion of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler minifigures provides some perspective, but the skeleton truly spans over three feet when fully assembled. The skull in this set mirrors the design of the existing LEGO T-rex skull, which my son built and which looks fantastic. However, the addition of the entire skeleton significantly enhances the overall impact of the set.

The dinosaur skeleton features articulated joints, allowing for a variety of poses. The head can move, the jaw can open, and the arms and tail can be adjusted. As with many LEGO sets inspired by films, this one includes several hidden Easter eggs to discover during the build process. It also comes with a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex's diet, habitat, and more.

While the LEGO Jurassic World series may not be as extensive as the LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Harry Potter lines, it's rapidly expanding. Personally, I'm excited to see more adult-focused LEGO sets like this T-rex skeleton added to the collection in the future.
