Exciting developments are on the horizon for Disneyland Paris, as the much-anticipated The Lion King ride gears up for construction starting in Fall 2025. Disney Parks Blog has unveiled new images and details, highlighting that this will be the first-ever land and attraction themed entirely around The Lion King. Set to be a major highlight of the reimagined Walt Disney Studios Park, now known as Disney Adventure World, this new water ride promises to immerse guests in the epic moments of the beloved 1994 animated classic.
The Lion King-themed land will feature a towering 120-foot-high Pride Rock, and will offer a plethora of experiences including dining, shopping, and character meet-and-greets. A newly released concept image showcases Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a feast in a lush jungle setting, hinting at just one of the many scenes guests will encounter. The ride itself will thrill with a dramatic 52-foot drop, surpassing Tiana's Bayou Adventure by two inches.
While an exact opening date hasn't been announced, The Lion King ride is set to debut following the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. It will be a key component of Disney Adventure World, which will expand the park's footprint twofold.
In addition to The Lion King and World of Frozen, Disney Adventure World will introduce Raiponce Tangled Spin, featuring Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel. Another first-time attraction, themed after the movie Up, will offer guests a unique "spinning carousel" experience with breathtaking views of the park's landscapes.
Opening on May 15, 2025, World Premiere will serve as the new park entrance, designed to mimic a glamorous Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, World Premiere Plaza, inspired by the vibrant atmosphere of Broadway and the West End, will host an array of theatrical productions including TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
