Completing the main quest "For Whom the Bell Tolls" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* can be quite the challenge, especially when it involves sneaking through unfamiliar areas under time pressure. This quest follows directly after "Wedding Crashers," and finds Henry imprisoned in Trosky, with his friend Hans scheduled for execution once the bell tolls 12 times. Fortunately, Henry is given a reprieve to work as a laborer around the castle, providing him a chance to save Hans.

Begin by hauling sacks to a shed, a mandatory step in your quest. Locate the sacks on the wagon, and transport them to the shed adjacent to the fenced area. Drop each sack in the shed and repeat until the task is complete.

Help the Blacksmith

Next, you're tasked with assisting the blacksmith, who, though reluctant, instructs you to craft a horseshoe. Navigate to the forge area through the archway opposite the blacksmith. Gather the necessary materials and craft the horseshoe, then return it to the blacksmith for approval. After this, head to the stables along the path you used for hauling sacks to deliver the horseshoe.

Help Fanka the Cook

To help Hans, return to the forge and retrieve a lockpick from the red pot on the shelves. Engage with Fanka, the nearby cook, and offer your assistance. This allows you entry into the noble's kitchen. Follow Fanka there; while lockpicking isn't necessary, doing so boosts your reputation and grants you ongoing kitchen access.

Speak with the Chamberlain

Inside the kitchen, you'll find the chamberlain suffering. Speak with him and attempt to persuade him to let you brew a Digestive Potion. If successful, you gain access to the surgeon's workshop. If not, you'll need to sneak in.

Make Fever Tonicum

If you couldn't convince the chamberlain, use kitchen food to distract the guard near the non-noble kitchen across from the forge. Sneak upstairs to the surgeon's workshop. If you did convince him, you have straightforward access. Inside, craft the Fever Tonicum and, if applicable, the Digestive Potion using the ingredients from the room's chest.

Cure Thomas

If aiding the chamberlain, deliver the Digestive Potion to him, securing permission to help Thomas. If sneaking, use the noble's kitchen stairs to bypass guards and reach Thomas' room. Distract the guard at the staircase with a pebble, then sneak to Thomas' room where Adele tends to him. Give her the Fever Tonicum, triggering the quest's concluding cutscene.

That's how you complete "For Whom the Bell Tolls" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*. Helping Thomas before the 12 bells toll enhances your reputation, though the quest's outcome remains unchanged if you fail to meet the deadline.
