The much-anticipated sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, titled Ghost of Yōtei, has finally unveiled its release date along with an engaging new trailer that dives into its narrative and gameplay. PlayStation and Sucker Punch Productions have officially announced the release date for Ghost of Yōtei. On April 23, a captivating trailer titled "The Onryō’s List" was released, offering a glimpse into the game's storyline and showcasing some thrilling gameplay. The trailer culminates with the announcement of the release date: October 2, 2025.

Ghost of Yōtei follows the journey of Atsu, set in the heart of Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido), as she seeks vengeance against the notorious Yōtei Six, a group of outlaws responsible for the murder of her family. Her quest is to hunt down each member: The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon, and their leader, Lord Saito.

As a standalone sequel set 300 years after Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yōtei builds upon the success of its predecessor with new weapons, mechanics, and features, which were highlighted earlier this year by the developers.

Hunt Down The Yōtei Six Your Way

Ghost of Yōtei offers players the freedom to pursue the Yōtei Six in any order they choose, allowing for a personalized path of revenge. Sucker Punch detailed these features on PlayStation.blog on April 23, providing insights into Atsu’s journey and the game’s open-world exploration.

The game enhances the exploration aspect with an evolved open-world system, offering more freedom and variety than Ghost of Tsushima. Beyond the main quest, players can track other dangerous targets, claim bounties, and learn new skills from weapon sensei. Familiar activities from the previous game, such as the beloved "Guiding Wind," return, complemented by a new mechanic that lets players build campfires anywhere in the open world. The developers emphasize the freedom to explore the vast land of Ezo, promising more details in the coming months.

Pre-orders for Ghost of Yōtei will commence on May 2 at 10:00 AM ET. The standard edition, priced at $69.99, will be available both at retail and through the PlayStation Store. Pre-order bonuses for any edition include:
