Elden Ring Director Beats All Bosses Without Relics

The possibility of solo play in Elden Ring Nightreign has sparked debate since the game's release, but director Junya Ishizaki confirms that tackling the game alone is entirely feasible. He speaks from experience, having personally defeated every Nightreign boss by himself.

In a recent CNET interview, Ishizaki was questioned on whether he had personally overcome every boss, including the final challenge.

"Indeed, I have. I hope it offers some reassurance to learn that I've conquered all of the game's bosses," Ishizaki stated. "I've experienced everything the game offers, both in co-op and playing solo. My intention is for you and other players to understand that this is very achievable, and I encourage you to have the confidence to attempt it yourselves."

CNET sought clarification, asking if he meant he had defeated every boss without any assistance. "Correct," Ishizaki confirmed. "And I did so without using any relics."

While this is an impressive feat on its own, I appreciate that Ishizaki's accomplishments are also meant to inspire other players. Essentially, if he can do it, there's a chance you can too. Although, the "without relics" part might be a tall order for many—perhaps it's fine to allow yourself a little help in that area.

Other players have also managed to defeat individual bosses and the entire roster of Nightlords on their own. Nonetheless, the solo experience in Nightreign continues to be closely examined, not just for its high difficulty, but also because certain mechanics, such as the revival system, seem more designed for cooperative play.

It's evident that FromSoftware is both aware of and responding to this feedback. The latest update, version 1.01.1, released just days after Elden Ring Nightreign's launch, made specific adjustments to the solo mode, increasing the rune rewards for single players and granting one free automatic resurrection during night boss encounters.
