Dune: Awakening, the highly anticipated open-world survival MMO inspired by Frank Herbert's iconic sci-fi novels and Denis Villeneuve's films, has been postponed to June 10, 2025. Developer Funcom announced the delay while offering an early access opportunity for eager players. Those who purchase the Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition will be able to dive into the game five days earlier on June 5, 2025.

Funcom cited feedback from their ongoing Persistent Closed Beta as the reason for the delay, stating that the extra time will allow the team to "cook" the game a bit longer. This additional period will also enable them to incorporate changes suggested during the beta phase. Moreover, the delay will facilitate a large-scale beta weekend next month, providing more players with the chance to experience the game and offer their feedback.

Although the delay might disappoint some fans eager to explore Arrakis, Funcom is set to host a combat livestream later today at 12pm ET/9am PT. This event will delve into the game's PvP and PvE mechanics, archetypes, and skills, giving fans more insight into what to expect.
