The highly anticipated fighting game, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, has been rated for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, despite no official announcement confirming its release on the new console. While fans eagerly await confirmation, a now-deleted tweet from the Saudi General Authority of Media Regulation, which was highlighted by the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit, seems to have spilled the beans.
The tweet stated, "Experience the fighting action in the latest game Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Available on Nintendo Switch 2, featuring 3D battles and storylines that change based on your choices," and confirmed that the game had secured a 12+ rating before it was taken down.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero builds upon the legendary gameplay of the Budokai Tenkaichi series, elevating it with an "incredible number" of playable characters, each boasting signature abilities, transformations, and techniques. This game promises to deliver an immersive experience that captures the essence of Akira Toriyama's iconic anime and manga series.
In our IGN Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero review, we awarded it a 7/10, noting, "Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is a final flash from the past, sometimes to a fault, but the feeling of traveling back to a simpler time when games didn’t have to be balanced or competitive to be fun is still a good one."
Meanwhile, pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 went live on April 24, maintaining a price of $449.99. The pre-orders were met with high demand, as expected. On the same day, Nintendo issued a warning to U.S. customers who pre-ordered from the My Nintendo Store, indicating that release date delivery was not guaranteed due to the overwhelming interest.
