Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Kabam, the developer, has announced an End of Service (EOS) date of December 16th, 2024.
The game has already been removed from the Google Play Store, and all in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months remaining to enjoy the game before the servers are permanently deactivated.
A Look Back at Disney Mirrorverse:
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse offered players the chance to battle alongside reimagined Disney and Pixar heroes. While initially met with enthusiasm, the game's extended beta period and infrequent content updates contributed to player attrition. The game's demanding shard collection system, requiring significant time investment or in-app purchases to fully upgrade characters, also proved challenging for many. Despite these shortcomings, the game's character designs and visuals were widely praised.
The Unexpected EOS Announcement:
The announcement of Disney Mirrorverse's closure is particularly surprising, coming just a week after the release of new story content and the addition of Cinderella as a playable character. This isn't Kabam's first EOS; they previously shut down Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off.
