Diablo 4 Season 7: Master the Progression

While Halloween may be over, the *Diablo IV* Season of the Maelstrom is just heating up! This guide will help you quickly level up in *Diablo IV* Season 7.

Get Your Pet

Upon loading *Diablo IV* Season 7, visit the nearest town with a Wardrobe. Interact with it to claim your pet. While pets don't fight, they collect gold and materials, significantly speeding up your progress and allowing you to focus on combat and loot.

Grab Your Mercenaries

If you own the *Vessel of Hatred* expansion, head to the Den and recruit Mercenaries. Solo players can have two, easing leveling and combat while building Rapport for extra rewards.

Follow the Seasonal Questline and Level Up

Starting on Normal difficulty, follow the Season 7 questline (marked with green leaf icons). This introduces new mechanics like Headhunt zones and Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, along with new Witch powers. While not lengthy, it includes puzzles and primarily involves farming Favors in Headhunt zones. This is also the most efficient way to reach level 60. Repeatedly defeat Headhunt zone bosses, collect Favors, and upgrade your Witch powers simultaneously.

Unlock Your Class Power

A helpful feature: Prioritized class quests are skipped if completed on a previous character (requires logging in with that character on the Eternal realm first). This means if you're playing a Rogue, log in with a previously leveled Rogue to instantly unlock your class power upon reaching the required level in Season 7.

Headhunt Zones

When exploring Headhunt zones, actively complete Whispers. Four zones are active at a time; prioritize smaller, denser zones for faster mob farming and Whisper completion. Prioritize these Whisper quests: Fugitive Shepherd (escorting animals) and Fugitive (recovering a head or destroying a husk, activated by defeating Elites and interacting with roots). Trade 10 Grim Favors for a cache at the Tree of Whispers (or with a Raven found in each Headhunt zone).

Witchcraft Powers

At the Tree of Whispers, use Altars of Witchcraft to buy and upgrade powers using Restless Rot (obtained from killing Rot enemies). Prioritize damage upgrades. Some powers require interacting with Forgotten Altars found in dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, Pits, and Rootholds (Torment 1 and above). Draughts of Whispers increase the chance of finding these Altars.

Rootholds

Rootholds (accessed with Whispering Woods from Whispers and Silent Chests) offer a rogue-lite experience similar to Infernal Hordes. Activate negative modifiers to improve loot. Open Exposed Roots for loot; modifiers affect their quantity and quality. Save Roothold keys for Torment 1 for optimal Ancestral loot.

Occult Gems

Craft Occult Gems (superior to regular gems) with Gelena at the Tree of Whispers. These are late-game items requiring significant Restless Rot and Heads (dropping from Roothold bosses and Fugitives; Draughts of Whispers increase drop chances).

Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons

Continue using Pits (for Glyph leveling), Nightmare Dungeons (for Glyphs), and Infernal Hordes (for masterworking materials to upgrade Uniques).
