Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost 2025: A Ghoulish Choice with Growing Community Concerns
Destiny 2 players face a chilling decision: vote for either "Slashers" or "Spectres" themed armor sets in the upcoming Festival of the Lost event. This year's Halloween event offers designs inspired by iconic horror figures like Jason Voorhees, Ghostface, the Babadook, La Llorona, and even Slenderman. Titans can choose between Jason and the Babadook, Hunters can select Ghostface or La Llorona, and Warlocks can opt for a Scarecrow or Slenderman aesthetic.
The announcement, however, comes amidst a backdrop of growing discontent within the Destiny 2 community. While the new armor is exciting, many players express frustration over persistent bugs and a noticeable decline in player engagement throughout Episode Revenant. Issues such as broken tonics and other gameplay glitches, though largely addressed by Bungie, have left a lingering negative sentiment. The focus on an event ten months away has also raised eyebrows, with some players hoping for a more direct acknowledgement of the game's current challenges.
The 2024 Festival of the Lost's Wizard armor, initially unavailable, will also be released during Episode Heresy, offering a small consolation to players. The upcoming vote for the 2025 event will determine which terrifyingly stylish armor set will haunt the game this October. The community's response to this announcement, however, highlights a need for Bungie to address broader concerns regarding game stability and player retention.
