On January 19, 2025, Hajimesyacho celebrated reaching the milestone of 50,000 cards by purchasing the maximum 720 Poké Gold every day since the mobile game's launch on October 30, 2024. This daily investment of approximately $100 has led to an estimated total expenditure of $8,500 over the 85 days the game has been available.

This calculation does not account for any sales events that may have occurred during the game's global launch or the holiday season. Hajimesyacho's commitment has enabled him to collect cards from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs, as well as time-exclusive promo cards.
The most recent card release, a Trainer card named Pokedex, allows players to view the top three cards of their deck. This card was awarded to players in celebration of reaching a global milestone of 40 billion cards collected in Pokémon TCG Pocket.

On January 21, 2025, The Pokémon Company announced a thrilling collaboration with McDonald's, introducing Pokémon-themed Happy Meals. These meals come with exclusive collectible physical cards and items from the Pokémon TCG Pocket series.
The collaboration offers 15 physical cards, including popular characters like Miraidon, Roaring Moon, and Rayquaza, with seven of them being "holo" or "foil" cards. Additionally, TCG Pocket players can redeem 24 Pack Hourglasses and 12 Hourglasses, which can be used to open booster packs and select a card via Wonder Pick.

The Happy Meal boxes feature four different designs, showcasing popular dragon-type Pokémon like Charizard, Rayquaza, Roaring Moon, and Dragonite alongside Pikachu. These exclusive items are available at participating McDonald's locations until supplies last. Remember, TCG Pocket rewards from this collaboration expire on March 31, 2025, so be sure to redeem them before then.

On January 17, 2025, Pokémon TCG Pocket announced details about its upcoming trade feature on Twitter (X). Trades will be limited to friends and only cards of the same rarity can be exchanged. Cards ranging from 1-4 diamonds and 1-star rarity are eligible for trading, while rarer cards like Special Illustration Rare, Immersive, and Crown Rares are excluded. An item must be consumed to facilitate each trade, similar to the Stardust system in Pokémon GO.

Currently, cards from the Genetic Apex (A1) and Mythical Island booster packs can be traded, with the TCG Pocket team promising to expand the card selection in future updates. They are committed to monitoring player feedback to balance the ease and enjoyment of collecting. Additionally, a new booster pack is set to be released in January, although the specific release date has not yet been announced.
