Following the impressive success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, developer Sandfall Interactive is considering a release on the Switch 2. In an insightful interview with French YouTuber mistermv on May 2, Expedition 33 Director Guillaume Broche discussed the studio's future after their triumphant launch.

Broche highlighted how the game's success has altered their trajectory, stating, "Well, at this point, considering the success of the game, it kind of changes everything."

Regarding the possibility of a Switch 2 version, Broche shared that the studio is currently navigating numerous opportunities. "So clearly, it's too early to say, but we're kind of in a situation where... let's say there are a lot of opportunities showing up - way too many at once - and we're figuring out what we'll go for and what we won't. But yeah, it's definitely something that could be interesting," he explained.

With the anticipated launch of the Switch 2, it makes perfect sense for the top-rated game of the year to make its way to Nintendo's latest handheld. Fans eager to experience the Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG on the new console will need to stay tuned for further updates.

No Official Merchandise…Yet!

In the wake of their game's success, Sandfall Interactive is being inundated with various requests and opportunities, including the potential release of official merchandise. One highly requested item is an official plush of the beloved character, Esquie. The studio has yet to launch any official merchandise and has issued a warning about fake products circulating online. On May 14, via a Twitter (X) post, they clarified, "To be clear: any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed."

They further cautioned that many of these unauthorized items feature AI-generated artwork, which Sandfall strongly advises against purchasing due to the risk of scams. However, they are actively working on creating official Esquie plushies.

Their tweet read, "But here’s the wheee to balance out the whooo: we are looking into making official Esquie plushies, and we want to bring them to you as soon as we can. In the meantime, please be patient — and don’t get scammed!"

The enthusiasm for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 shows no signs of waning, and with Sandfall's recent announcement, fans can look forward to official merchandise.
