Gandhi's Return Remains a Possibility

Hope remains for Gandhi's inclusion in Civilization VII. In a February 13, 2025 IGN interview, lead designer Ed Beach confirmed that while not present at launch, Gandhi's return is being considered, likely as part of future DLC.

Beach addressed the absence of several familiar civilizations and leaders, including Great Britain and India. He explained that the sheer number of popular choices necessitated omitting some to showcase new and exciting additions. While some favorites were left out initially, Beach assures players that Firaxis is considering their reintroduction in the future.

Given the extensive DLC history of Civilization VI, Gandhi's eventual appearance in Civilization VII seems probable, though the exact release date remains uncertain.
