Onimusha: Way of the Sword Gets a Bunch of New Details

PlayOnimusha: Way of the Sword is set to launch in 2026, and Capcom has shared intriguing details about what fans can anticipate from this thrilling return to the franchise. The development team is focusing on three key elements: crafting compelling characters, introducing a new protagonist, and designing engaging enemies. They are meticulously recreating the historic city of Kyoto, filled with real-life locations, to bring authenticity to the game's setting. Their goal is to deliver the "ultimate sword fighting action" experience, emphasizing the visceral thrill of slicing through foes.

Though details about the new protagonist remain scarce, it's confirmed that Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be set during the Edo Period. Players will battle the sinister Genma creatures, with the protagonist wielding an Oni Gauntlet, using it to vanquish enemies and absorb their souls. The game aims to strike a balance in difficulty, ensuring it's challenging yet accessible to action fans of all skill levels.

Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 to Feature Flagship Monster Arkveld

PlayMonster Hunter Wilds' second Open Beta test is on the horizon, and Capcom has revealed new features that distinguish it from the first beta. Players will now have the chance to confront the flagship monster, Arkveld, in an advanced quest designed to challenge seasoned hunters. Additionally, the beta will include a Gypceros Hunt, a training area, and online features such as Private Lobbies and Online Single Player mode. Private Lobbies allow for secluded play with friends, while Online Single Player mode enables solo play with the option to use an S.O.S. Flare for multiplayer assistance when needed.

Data from the first Open Beta can be transferred to this new test, and returning features include Character Creator, Story Trial, and the Doshaguma hunt. Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled for release on February 28, with the second Open Beta, featuring Cross-Play, taking place from:

  • Thursday, February 6 at 7pm PT to Sunday, February 9 at 6:59pm PT
  • Thursday, February 13 at 7pm PT to Sunday, February 16 at 6:59pm PT
PlayParticipants in the Open Beta can transfer their character data to the full game, though no game progression will carry over. Those who participate will receive a special Pendant as a reward.

Monster Hunter Wilds Reveals Iceshard Cliffs and New Enemies Just Waiting to Be Fought
