"Capcom Revives Breath of Fire IV on PC After 25 Years"

The classic role-playing game, Breath of Fire IV, has been resurrected for PC gamers, a full 25 years after its initial release. Originally launched on the PlayStation in Japan and North America in 2000, followed by Europe in 2001, it saw a PC port in Europe and Japan in 2003. The storyline follows Ryu, a protagonist with the unique ability to transform into a dragon, who joins forces with other warriors to thwart an emperor's plan to destroy the world.

Thanks to GOG's ongoing Preservation Program, Breath of Fire IV has been meticulously updated for today's PCs and is available DRM-free on their platform. This enhanced edition is fully optimized for modern systems, supporting Windows 10 and 11, and includes both English and Japanese localizations. The game boasts improved graphics thanks to an upgraded DirectX renderer, new display options such as Windowed Mode, V-Sync, Anti-Aliasing, and refined gamma correction for superior visuals. Additionally, the audio engine has been enhanced, restoring previously missing environmental sounds and adding new configuration options.
