Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2 Arrives January 28th

Treyarch has officially announced the launch date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 2: Tuesday, January 28th. Season 1, which began November 14th, will have run for a substantial 75 days, marking one of the longest seasons in Call of Duty history.

While specifics regarding Season 2's content remain undisclosed, anticipation is high. Following the record-breaking launch of Black Ops 6 – boasting the highest player count in its first 30 days – the game has experienced a recent downturn, attributed to issues like cheating in Ranked Play and persistent server problems. The community hopes the new season will revitalize the game with fresh content and crucial improvements.

Season 2 Launch Confirmed

The Season 2 launch date was confirmed within a recent Black Ops 6 update. While addressing Zombies-related fixes in the January 9th patch notes, Treyarch mentioned certain improvements slated for the next season, ultimately revealing the January 28th launch date. A detailed blog post unveiling the full Season 2 content is expected soon.

Season 1 delivered a significant amount of new content, including multiplayer maps, modes, weapons, and events. Warzone players also benefited from the integration with Black Ops 6, receiving a new movement system, weapons, gameplay updates, and the Area-99 Resurgence map. The season also featured the return of popular maps like Nuketown and Hacienda from Black Ops 4.

Looking ahead, Treyarch has hinted at more classic map remasters for Season 2, though they’ve emphasized a focus on original content. Associate Creative Director Miles Leslie previously stated that no Black Ops map is excluded from remaster consideration.
