Preorders are currently open (check it out at Target). Dive in for all the details.
Release Date: Out June 5
Price: $39.99
The price point is pleasantly surprising, especially considering the physical copy comes as a "game-key card," which we'll discuss further below.
Some games for the Nintendo Switch 2 are available on cards that contain the full game data, but this isn't one of them. Instead, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster comes as a game-key card. These cards mimic the look of Switch 2 cartridges but don't include the game data. You'll need to insert the card into your Switch 2 and download the 11GB game from the eShop.
You can still lend or sell the game using the physical card, but to play, you'll need to insert the game-key card into your Switch 2.
Originally released on the 3DS, Bravely Default was a nostalgic RPG featuring turn-based combat and a quest for four crystals. Its standout feature is the innovative combat system, allowing players to save turns for multiple actions at once. The game also includes a rich job system for assigning new abilities to your party members.
The HD remaster retains these core elements and adds new features. You can now fast forward through battles and cut scenes, adjust encounter rates to control how often you face enemies, and enjoy an online mode with new minigames.
