On April 16, the official Twitter (X) account of Among Us 3D shared that the game will launch on May 6, 2025. This thrilling new chapter in the Among Us universe, initially known as Among Us VR, has been rebranded to Among Us 3D to enhance the gaming experience with cross-play multiplayer capabilities. This week, the developers also introduced a new currency called Stardust, which never expires, offering players greater flexibility in their in-game purchases.

Among Us 3D promises to enrich the gameplay with exciting new features. Players can look forward to a permanent Tag Mode introducing the Infected role, native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, new and returning mini-games, and a plethora of new cosmetics to customize their characters. It's worth noting that Among Us 3D is a distinct entity from the Among Us VR released in 2022, and cross-play between these two games won't be available. As explained in the FAQs on Schell Games' website, "Separating the versions during this development allowed/allows us to continue to bring quality updates to our Among Us VR beans while ensuring the highest quality and tailored experience for our new PC players."
