Fans of the time-twisting RPG Reverse: 1999 have a lot to look forward to with an upcoming livestream scheduled for April 18th. This event promises to unveil exciting new content for the game's 1.5th anniversary as well as a sneak peek at version 2.5, titled 'Showdown in Chinatown'. This will be the first comprehensive reveal of what players can expect from the upcoming update.
The livestream will be hosted in-character by Captain Regulus and a new character, Officer Liang Yue, both appearing in chibi form. Viewers can anticipate giveaways of codes and a chance to win a Nintendo Switch 2 through a competition.
While version 2.5 has already been showcased to Chinese players, the international audience will get to see how 'Showdown in Chinatown' pays homage to Hong Kong martial arts movies, featuring a dramatic crime thriller narrative centered around capturing an arcanist vigilante.

Character-wise, Officer Liang Yue, who utilizes a variety of martial arts moves, will be infiltrating the movie set of another new character, Noire. Noire, a wheelchair-bound perfectionist director, uses her special moves to puppeteer her ideal actors against enemies. Additionally, Loggerhead, a character with a camera for a head, is set to make an appearance.
Although the specifics for the international versions of Reverse: 1999 will be clarified during the livestream, fans can expect plenty of nods to the Shaw Brothers and John Woo in version 2.5.
