Wolcen Unveils "ExtrAction RPG" Project Pantheon, Blending Diablo and Escape from Tarkov

Wolcen Studio has recently announced their latest venture, Project Pantheon, a free-to-play combat role-playing game that uniquely integrates elements of extraction shooter mechanics. The first closed alpha testing phase is set to kick off on January 25 for players in Europe, with North American players joining the fray on February 1.

"We've blended the tension and risk reward of an extraction shooter with the battle dynamics of combat role-playing games," explained game director Andrei Cirkulete. This innovative blend draws inspiration from titles like Diablo and Escape from Tarkov. The studio is eager to gather feedback from the player community. In Project Pantheon, players assume the role of a messenger of Death, tasked with restoring order to a devastated world.

Throughout the game, players will face off against AI opponents and other players while navigating through various maps. Successful evacuations allow players to retain their hard-earned trophies, but any failure results in the loss of all collected loot. The game offers a rich experience, enabling players to build their own bases, customize their equipment, and experiment with different playstyles.

The setting of Project Pantheon draws heavily from world mythologies, with the initial adventures taking place in "Destiny's Edge," a realm inspired by Scandinavian legends. Although the game is in its early alpha phase, Wolcen Studio is committed to actively engaging with the community to refine and enhance the project.
