Smite 2 Goes Free-to-Play with New Character

Smite 2's Open Beta Launch: January 14, 2025

Get ready! Smite 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the popular MOBA, launches its free-to-play open beta on January 14, 2025. This marks a significant milestone for the Unreal Engine 5-powered game, initially unveiled in Alpha in 2024.

This open beta will feature a wealth of new content, including:

• Aladdin: The first God from the Tales of Arabia pantheon, debuting alongside the beta launch. This Magical Assassin and Jungler boasts unique abilities, including wall-running and enemy trapping.
• Returning Favorites: Popular Gods from the original Smite, such as Mulan, Geb, Ullr, and Agni, are making a comeback with updated skill sets.
• Expanded Roster: The God roster will expand to nearly 50 by the end of January 2025, offering a diverse range of mythological figures.
• New Game Modes: Experience thrilling new gameplay with the introduction of Joust (3v3) and Duel (1v1), both featuring an Arthurian-themed map with teleporters and stealth grass.
• Aspects System: This innovative feature allows players to modify a God's abilities, trading one aspect of their build for a powerful bonus. Twenty Gods will initially support Aspects, with more to be added.
• Quality-of-Life Improvements: Expect enhanced gameplay with additions such as Role Guides, improved in-game messaging, PC text chat, item store enhancements, and detailed death recaps.

The open beta will showcase approximately 20 of Smite 2's 45 dynamic Gods, each with unique Aspects. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The first Smite 2 esports tournament finale will also take place from January 17-19 at the HyperX Arena in Las Vegas. Prepare for an exciting new chapter in the Smite universe!
