Rockstar Releases Bully Anniversary Edition Update After Six Years

Rockstar, the developers behind the iconic GTA series, have recently released an Anniversary Edition update for Bully on mobile platforms. After a six-year hiatus, this update is a welcome surprise for fans, and it's exclusively available for mobile users, not for console or PC.

Rockstar Hasn’t Forgotten about Bullworth Academy!

Bully: Anniversary Edition's latest update introduces new languages and focuses on enhancing stability and fixing bugs. Notably, Rockstar has temporarily disabled Friends Challenges to ensure a smoother experience.

The update also brings several technical enhancements, including the activation of Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO) for Android users with compatible devices. Additionally, there's an updated app icon and the introduction of haptic feedback across both iOS and Android platforms.

Several mission-specific issues have been addressed. For instance, the mission 'That Bitch' where Mandy’s locker was previously unpickable has been fixed. Similarly, 'Weed Killer' now progresses correctly even if the window is broken prematurely, and the police cars in 'The Rumble' no longer fall through the floor. The update also resolves issues where enemies wouldn't engage Jimmy, leading to unbalanced combat, and fixes crashes that occurred when starting a new game or loading a save from the pause menu.

What Do Players Have to Say about Bully: Anniversary Edition?

The Bully community has been vocal about their desire for a sequel, Bully 2, for years. Although there were reports of a sequel in development during the 2010s, it was ultimately shelved in favor of projects like Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA Online. With GTA 6 on the horizon, the prospects for Bully 2 seem slim, especially considering many of the original developers have moved on from Rockstar.

While the new update isn't a full remaster or a sequel, it's a significant upgrade for mobile players. For those unfamiliar with Bully, it's Rockstar's unique take on a schoolyard sandbox game where you play as Jimmy Hopkins, a 15-year-old navigating the challenges of Bullworth Academy. The game is infused with Rockstar's signature humor and open-world mischief.

You can experience Bully: Anniversary Edition on the Google Play Store for €7.99, and it supports full gamepad functionality.
