The PlayStation Days of Play promotional sale officially concluded on Wednesday, June 11th, but one standout offer has been extended for a limited time. Amazon is currently still offering the PlayStation 5 DualSense Edge Controller at a discounted price of just $169, thanks to an instant $30 price reduction. While the standard DualSense controller is frequently discounted, price drops for the premium DualSense Edge are far less common. This controller represents a professional-grade accessory for the PS5, analogous to the Xbox Elite controller for the Series X.

The DualSense Edge is Sony's high-performance controller for the PS5 console. Similar to the Xbox Elite Series 2, it packs professional features such as textured grips, adjustable analog sticks, mappable rear buttons, and customizable profiles. You can replace the standard analog stick caps with included convex ones, available in two different heights. The back button options include lever-style paddles like the Xbox Elite or smaller, nub-shaped buttons. Pro controller triggers are crucial, and the DualSense Edge delivers here as well. A slider next to each trigger lets you adjust its travel distance to one of three settings—standard, medium, or short—allowing for faster response times in competitive shooting games.
All these components are housed in a sturdy, hard-shell carrying case for convenient storage and transport. The case even features a dedicated port so you can charge the controller while it's stored inside. It also includes a 9-foot USB-C charging cable. Unlike the standard DualSense, certain parts are user-replaceable; for example, you can purchase replacement analog stick modules separately for $19.99 each.
PS5 DualSense Edge Review by Matthew Adler
"With a price tag nearly three times that of the standard DualSense, the $200 DualSense Edge is a significant investment for casual players. However, it packs a tremendous amount of advanced technology into a familiar form factor. The Function buttons work exceptionally well for quickly creating, adjusting, and switching between custom profiles, all through a slick and intuitive interface. The interchangeable back buttons are comfortable and feel like a natural part of the controller. Furthermore, the easily replaceable analog stick modules mean you can address joystick drift without needing to buy a whole new controller. My only critique is the lack of a substantial battery life improvement—a traditional weakness of PlayStation controllers—but overall, this is an impressive first entry into the 'pro' controller market for Sony."
