Tuscaloosa police are seeking public assistance to identify a suspect who robbed a convenience store while wearing a Scooby-Doo costume.
The incident occurred last weekend at Quick Stop on Highway 82, where surveillance footage captured the costumed thief emptying coin machines. Unlike the beloved cartoon character, this criminal came prepared - removing his Scooby head only to reveal a concealing balaclava underneath.
The suspect is described as a white male approximately 5'9" tall. Authorities have appealed for information about his identity (because let's face it - it's always someone in disguise).
Police released CCTV images showing the suspect moving through the store at 3:45 AM, noting he "stole cash and coins, but surprisingly left the snacks behind."
In a humorous social media update, investigators shared a photo of the iconic Mystery Machine van outside their station, quipping: "We've questioned its owners but haven't cracked the case yet. Stay alert for suspicious caretakers and remember - no meddling with suspects."

Could this bizarre crime be guerrilla marketing for Netflix's upcoming live-action Scooby-Doo reboot?
The streaming platform recently announced a contemporary take on the classic franchise, featuring the original gang investigating supernatural murders at a summer camp with their mystery-solving canine companion. Notably, series creator Velma Dinkley will be dating a character named Freddy (not Fred) in this adaptation.
