This event coincides with Pokémon GO's ninth anniversary and precedes the upcoming Pokémon GO Tour: Unova. The Lunar New Year festivities offer a chance to boost your Pokédex before the Unova event kicks off.

Event Highlights:

• Event Dates: January 29th, 10:00 a.m. to February 2nd, 8:00 p.m. local time.
• Increased Lucky Pokémon Chances: Enjoy heightened odds of obtaining Lucky Pokémon through trades and becoming Lucky Friends.
• Boosted Wild Encounters: Prepare for more frequent encounters with Ekans, Onix, Snivy, Darumaka, Dunsparce, Gyarados, and Dratini, including Shiny variations!
• 2km Egg Surprises: Makuhita, Nosepass, Meditite, Duskull, and Skorupi will be hatching from 2km Eggs.
• Reward-Packed Research: Complete Field Research and Timed Research tasks for Stardust, XP, Zygarde Cells, and Pokémon encounters. A paid Timed Research ($2) offers enhanced rewards, including two Lucky Eggs and an incubator.
• Collection Challenge: A special Collection Challenge will reward players with extra Stardust for trading.
• PokéStop Showcases: Showcase your Lunar New Year Pokémon at PokéStops for potential item bundle rewards.
