Pokémon GO Tour Pass Unveiled: Free Feature Unveiled

The Pokémon GO Tour: Unova event introduces a new free feature: the Tour Pass! Many players are curious about its cost and rewards, so let's break it down.

What is the Pokémon GO Tour Pass?

The Tour Pass, debuting with the Pokémon GO Tour: Unova global event, is a system for earning rewards. Players complete in-game tasks to accumulate Tour Points, unlocking rewards, boosting rank, and enhancing event bonuses.

The standard Tour Pass is free and automatically granted to players upon event commencement (February 24th, 10 AM local time). A paid version, the Tour Pass Deluxe ($14.99 USD or equivalent), offers an immediate Victini encounter, superior rewards, and faster progression.

Earning and Using Tour Points

Tour Points are earned via familiar in-game activities: catching Pokémon, participating in raids, and hatching eggs. Daily Pass Tasks provide additional points.

These points unlock rewards, increasing your rank within the Tour Pass tiers. Higher ranks unlock encounters, Candy, Poké Balls, and more. Ranking also boosts Catch XP bonuses during the event:

• Tier 2: 1.5x Catch XP
• Tier 3: 2x Catch XP
• Tier 4: 3x Catch XP

Niantic has yet to reveal all rewards; further details are promised. The free Pass's top tier grants a Zorua encounter with a special background, while the Deluxe Pass culminates in a Lucky Trinket.

What is a Lucky Trinket?

The Lucky Trinket, a one-time-use item exclusive to the Tour Pass Deluxe, transforms a friend (at least Great Friends level) into a Lucky Friend, enabling a Lucky Pokémon trade without requiring Best Friends status. Note: Trinkets expire on March 9th, 2025.
