Exciting news for *Death Stranding* fans — the highly anticipated sequel, *Death Stranding 2: On The Beach*, is scheduled to launch on June 26, 2025. In a recent interview with IGN, franchise star Norman Reedus shared some intriguing insights into the upcoming game and even hinted at his potential involvement in the film adaptation currently being developed by Michael Sarnoski and A24.
“If it was an option, yeah, for sure,” Reedus stated when asked whether he’d be open to portraying himself in a cinematic version of the game. “I don’t know what’s happening with it — it’s so pre-pre-pre right now. But yeah, of course.”
Reedus also addressed his evolving understanding of the *Death Stranding* universe, especially as the series moves forward. While the first game left many players puzzled — including Reedus himself — he expressed full confidence in visionary creator Hideo Kojima. “As far as working with him and understanding where his head’s at, I don’t think anybody can understand where his head’s at,” Reedus explained. “He’s just that guy — he’s out there and he’s got great ideas. But story-wise, I did know what was happening more [in the sequel]. There’s more action in it, there’s more of a definite goal to get to.”
Despite the mind-bending nature of the *Death Stranding* world, Reedus remains enthusiastic about the journey. “It’s always a trip working on those things,” he told IGN. “It’s great, but it’s wild.”
