Nintendo's Alarmo Alarm Clock: Wider Release and Enhanced Features

Nintendo's innovative alarm clock, Alarmo, is slated for a broader retail release in March 2025, as announced via their official Twitter (X) account. This expansion marks a significant step, making the device more accessible to consumers worldwide.

Initially launched with limited availability and requiring a Nintendo Online subscription, Alarmo will now be available at major retailers such as Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other authorized vendors. The Nintendo Online membership requirement will be removed for this wider release. Alarmo will retail for $99.99 USD.

The high demand for Alarmo following its October 9th, 2024 launch resulted in immediate sell-outs in certain regions. In Japan, sales were temporarily suspended on the My Nintendo Store and transitioned to a lottery system for Nintendo Online subscribers. Similar high demand led to sell-outs in New York City.

Key Features of Nintendo Alarmo:

Alarmo boasts a unique interactive alarm experience featuring charming game characters and sounds from popular Nintendo titles like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3. Users can select from 42 scenes, with more planned as free updates.

The alarm's gentle start features a character waking up, followed by a visitor. Users can quiet the alarm with a simple hand wave or body movement. If you remain in bed too long, a more insistent visitor and intensified sound will encourage you to rise. The motion sensor allows for silencing the alarm without touching the device.

Additional features include hourly chimes, sleep sounds themed to the selected scene, and sleep pattern tracking. For households with multiple occupants or pets, Nintendo suggests using the Button Mode.

The expanded release of Alarmo in March 2025 promises to bring this unique and engaging alarm clock to a wider audience, eliminating the previous Nintendo Online subscription requirement.
