Marvel's small-screen adaptations have a rich history, from the classic "Incredible Hulk" to the Netflix series featuring Daredevil and Luke Cage. While previous attempts to integrate live-action TV shows into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) had mixed results, Marvel Studios launched a new era in 2021 with interconnected Disney+ series. With "Spider-Man: Freshman Year" (the 13th Disney+ Marvel show) on the horizon, we've ranked the first twelve.

Disney+ Marvel TV Shows Ranked

  1. Secret Invasion

Disney+
Widely considered the weakest Marvel Studios Disney+ series to date, "Secret Invasion" fails to capture the essence of the impactful comic book storyline. Director Ali Selim's admission of not reading the source material is telling. While MCU adaptations often successfully reinterpret source material, "Secret Invasion" suffers from slow pacing, a jarring AI-generated opening sequence, a poorly handled character death, and an underwhelming new character. Its attempt to emulate the espionage thriller tone of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" falls flat.

  1. Echo

Disney+
A significant improvement over "Secret Invasion," "Echo" still ranks lower due to a shortened episode count leaving some viewers wanting more. Alaqua Cox's portrayal of the deaf Cheyenne superhero is compelling, and the series features impressive action sequences, notably a fight with Daredevil. Its groundbreaking representation of Indigenous creatives is a positive aspect. While not as impactful as higher-ranked shows, it offers a unique and emotionally resonant story.

  1. Moon Knight

Disney+
Starring Oscar Isaac, "Moon Knight's" lower ranking is surprising to some. The series explores the multiple personalities of Marc Spector in a dark and surreal narrative, blending elements of various films and shows. While introducing a standout character in Scarlet Scarab (May Calamawy) and boasting a strong cast (F. Murray Abraham, Ethan Hawke), it ultimately failed to resonate enough with viewers to secure a higher position or a second season.

  1. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Disney+
Despite the strong chemistry between Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" falls short. Murky moral dilemmas, heavy reliance on the Blip storyline, and a focus on espionage over action hindered its potential. Production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic likely impacted the final product. Nevertheless, its narrative elements have become crucial to the current MCU, notably impacting the "Thunderbolts" film.
