Don't Nod, the acclaimed French studio behind Life is Strange, has launched the first chapter of their latest narrative-driven adventure. Players can now immerse themselves in Tape 1, with Tape 2 set to be released for free to all buyers on April 15.

First announced in 2023, this new title delves into the story of a group of friends who were mysteriously separated during the summer of 1995. Fast forward 27 years, and the specters of that fateful summer resurface, bringing with them unforeseen and chilling repercussions.

The game draws its inspiration from iconic works like It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer, skillfully weaving together elements of nostalgia with the suspense of a psychological thriller. The developers have structured the game into two distinct parts: Bloom and Rage. As of today, February 18, only the first segment, Bloom, is available for players to explore.

Anticipation builds for the second part, dubbed "The Tape," which is scheduled for release on April 15. Initially planned for a March launch, the delay aims to deliver a more refined and polished experience.

With the review embargo now lifted, the game has garnered an average critic score of 74/100 on OpenCritic, signaling a strong debut for this enthralling mystery.
