LEGO Unveils Jango Fett's Starship, New Star Wars Sets Before May the Fourth

LEGO has unveiled nine exciting new Star Wars sets, all set to launch on May 1, 2025, as part of Disney's expansive celebration of May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day. LEGO traditionally marks this occasion with the release of an Ultimate Collector Series Starship. In 2023, fans enjoyed the Luke's X-Wing Starfighter, followed by the TIE Interceptor in 2024. This year's highlight is Jango Fett's Firespray Starship, famously known among Star Wars enthusiasts as Slave I (check it out on the LEGO Store). The name change to Firespray Starship, implemented in 2021 at Disney's request (confirmed by LEGO), reflects a move away from the term 'slave' in their branding. This rebranding has now been in place for four years and appears to be permanent.

The last 'large' version of this iconic LEGO starship was released in 2019 to celebrate its 20th anniversary. That model, with 1007 pieces, portrayed the ship as seen in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. The new 2025 version, boasting 2970 pieces, is inspired by the ship's appearance in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones. This new set is nearly three times larger than its predecessor, with dimensions of 7.5 inches high, 17.5 inches long, and 15.5 inches wide.
