Metro Quester – Hack & Slash is now live on Android. This dungeon-crawling RPG breaks from KEMCO’s usual formula. While still a turn-based JRPG, it embraces a raw, classic dungeon crawler vibe.
In Metro Quester, you lead a band of scavengers venturing underground to gather resources before your weekly food supply dwindles. The key number is 100—collect 100 food units every seven in-game days to survive.
Your journey takes you through monster-filled ruins, scavenging in areas like Otemachi and Ginza for scraps. You can only level up back at camp, provided you’ve survived and gathered enough loot.
Choose from 24 characters, each with one of eight unique classes. Customize your team’s skills, weapons, and tactics to fit your playstyle.
Abilities consume action points, with only five points available per turn. Each ability is limited to one use per round, making strategy crucial.
The dungeon unfolds as you explore, revealing hidden food caches, monster lairs, or keys to new areas. You might also discover a campsite to establish as your next base.
The game’s visuals are stark, with a bleak, colorless world that makes your team pop in vivid contrast. Check it out here.
A NEW GAME+ mode awaits those who complete the main story, offering tougher challenges for replay enthusiasts.
Priced at $14.99, the game is available on Android via the Google Play Store, supporting only English and Japanese with no game controller compatibility.
