Insomniac Games' Ted Price reveals a missed opportunity: Resistance 4. In recent retirement interviews, Price confirmed that a Resistance 4 pitch was developed but ultimately deemed unsuitable due to market timing and opportunities.
Despite this, Price expressed the team's enthusiasm for continuing the Resistance storyline, highlighting its unique alternate history setting and the potential for further exploration of the Chimera's origins and future.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, was developed by Insomniac for the PlayStation 3. The games depict an alternate 1951 where aliens invade the UK. Following the Resistance trilogy, Insomniac shifted focus to other projects, including the acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man series and new Ratchet & Clank installments.
Price's retirement announcement earlier this year marked the end of his 30-year tenure at Insomniac. He's been succeeded by Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang as Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's current and upcoming projects include the recently PC-released Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and the anticipated Marvel's Wolverine.
