If you’re a fan of Japanese music, you're no stranger to HYDE, the iconic artist who has graced Madison Square Garden and sold over 40 million records. Today marks an exciting new chapter for fans as HYDE becomes the star of a thrilling new endless runner game, "Hyde Run," now available globally.
Initially launched in Japan, "Hyde Run" has now expanded worldwide, courtesy of developer and publisher Phoenixx. The game offers global fans a unique way to celebrate HYDE's illustrious career through a gameplay experience rich with nods to his musical journey.
In "Hyde Run," players take on the role of HYDE, navigating a high-speed chase through a futuristic Tokyo and a concert stage. The gameplay combines parkour elements with the excitement of dodging obstacles, wall-running past billboards, and collecting musical notes.
What sets "Hyde Run" apart from typical endless runners is its vibrant, neon-infused aesthetic and the infusion of HYDE's guitar solo energy, making it a unique experience for fans. As you dash through the city, you can grab various power-ups such as magnets that attract notes to you and barriers that protect against damage.
Before each run, players can equip items for a boost, like the Note Gain to increase note collection or a Barrier to avoid obstacles. Collecting crystals unlocks exclusive outfits and room items from HYDE's career, and unlocking the Microphone Stand grants access to HYDE's voice clips.
Beyond running, "Hyde Run" allows players to customize HYDE’s room with memorabilia spanning 20 years of his career, including tour gear and hidden items that unlock special messages and voice notes from HYDE.
Until June 10th, 2025, players can grab limited-time content, including the THE LAST ROCKSTARS Costume Set, featuring HYDE's iconic look from the music video, along with matching ROCK Furniture like leopard prints, vintage trunks, and stage spotlights. For a more relaxed vibe, the Bat Jinbei Costume Set offers a summer-festival inspired look, while the Japanese-style furniture set includes traditional elements like bamboo, bonboris, and a wind chime designed after HYDE’s Edyh character.
