Forza Horizon 5 Heads to PS5

In a surprising turn of events, Xbox's acclaimed racing title, Forza Horizon 5, is making its way to PlayStation. During an unexpected announcement, Playground Games revealed that the latest installment in the series will arrive on PS5 this spring. This marks another instance of an Xbox exclusive transitioning to PlayStation, following titles such as Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

The PS5 version of Forza Horizon 5 has been co-developed by Panic Button alongside Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games. It will mirror the content available on Xbox and PC, including all Car Packs, as well as the Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure expansions. The move aligns with Xbox's growing strategy to distribute its games across multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, following confirmation from Xbox chief Phil Spencer.

Microsoft recently disclosed during its investor call that while Indiana Jones and the Great Circle attracted 4 million players and PC Game Pass saw a 30% growth, contributing to a 2% rise in service revenue, overall gaming revenue dipped due to a nearly 30% decline in console sales. This shift could encourage Xbox to emphasize Game Pass and expand its reach onto additional hardware.
