Fortnite has triumphantly returned to iOS devices on the U.S. Apple App Store after its long absence.
Epic Games announced the exciting development via a celebratory post on X/Twitter, officially welcoming mobile gamers back to its blockbuster battle royale title following a five-year hiatus. While Fortnite's iOS store page appears largely unchanged since its 2020 removal, it now proudly proclaims "Fortnite is back!" as its headline.
Fortnite is BACK on the App Store in the U.S. on iPhones and iPads... and on the Epic Games Store and AltStore in the E.U! It'll show up in Search soon!

Currently, some U.S. iOS users might experience difficulty finding Fortnite through App Store search results, though Epic assures this will be resolved "soon." Users can alternatively access the newly restored store page directly. European players now have additional options to download through the Epic Games Store and AltStore.
Fortnite's iOS comeback marks the conclusion of Epic's protracted legal dispute with Apple. The conflict originated in August 2020 when both Apple and Google removed Fortnite after Epic introduced an update featuring discounted V-Bucks alongside a direct payment system. Epic defended its actions by criticizing the companies' allegedly excessive platform fees.
The removal sparked years of litigation that prevented Fortnite's return to official mobile storefronts. After a California federal court ruling earlier this year, Epic CEO Tim Sweeney announced Fortnite's impending May 2025 iOS return, though temporary delays occurred due to Apple's continued resistance.
The revived iOS version offers players two purchase options for V-Bucks: through the Epic Games Store or traditional in-app purchases. Choosing Epic's direct option for the $22.99/2,800 V-Bucks bundle provides buyers with $4.60 (20%) in Epic store credit.
