While *Dynasty Warriors: Origins* is not an open-world game, it does feature a substantial world map that can grow increasingly complex as players progress. Initially, the explorable area is quite manageable, but as the main storyline unfolds and more provinces unlock, traversing the map can become a time-consuming challenge. This issue is further complicated by the constant unlocking of new skirmishes and requests, often necessitating backtracking across the expansive map.
Fortunately, mastering the art of fast travel in *Dynasty Warriors: Origins* can significantly streamline the experience, especially for those aiming to complete all the game's side content.
In *Dynasty Warriors: Origins*, players can fast travel to different Waymarks by accessing the Map screen. To unlock a Waymark for fast travel, players must approach it on the world map and hold down the X button (on PlayStation) or the A button (on Xbox). Once unlocked, the Waymark will appear on the map, enabling players to fast travel to it at their convenience.
To access the map when not in battle, players can either interact with an unlocked Waymark on the world map or pause the game and use the shoulder buttons to navigate to the Map menu. PlayStation users have the added convenience of quickly accessing the map by pressing the Dual Sense touchpad while on the world map screen, saving precious seconds in the process.
Once on the map screen, hovering over an unlocked Waymark will display nearby key locations or battles. If searching for a specific battle or location, players should press the Square button (PlayStation) or the X button (Xbox) to toggle additional information. They can then use the Triangle button (PlayStation) or the Y button (Xbox) to cycle through a list of available battles and locations, selecting the desired one to move the cursor to the nearest Waymark.
