Crunchyroll Releases Kardboard Kings, a Card Shop and Collector Simulator

Crunchyroll's Android app now features Kardboard Kings, a captivating single-player card shop management game. Originally launched on PC in February 2022, this title from Henry's House, Oscar Brittain, and Rob Gross (published by Akupara Games) has made its way to consoles and now mobile devices via Crunchyroll. Step into the shoes of Harry Hsu, inheriting his card-collecting father's seaside shop and the legacy of the legendary card game, Warlock. Harry's unlikely business partner? Giuseppe, a fast-talking cockatoo with an uncanny ability to spot a great deal.

Balancing customer satisfaction with the occasional mischievous price hike, Harry navigates the vibrant world of buying, selling, and trading cards. The game's charm lies in its witty characters, clever references to other card games and anime, and over 100 uniquely illustrated cards, including shiny variants.

Gameplay Details:

The core gameplay loop is simple: buy low, sell high, and profit! However, mastering Kardboard Kings requires understanding fluctuating card conditions, set rarities, foil finishes, and ability popularity—all impacting a card's value.

The game also includes a roguelite deck-building mode on Card Game Island, where you'll face tough opponents, host tournaments, throw booster pack parties, and manage inventory through strategic clearance sales.
