Crunchyroll Launches Tengami: Folklore Puzzle Game

Crunchyroll has introduced a captivating new game that will appeal to puzzle enthusiasts and anime fans alike. With its serene atmosphere, beautiful art style, and subtle mystery, it's now part of the Crunchyroll Game Vault on Android. The title in question is Tengami—a unique adventure that plays out like an interactive pop-up book.

When a Visual Novel Meets Origami

Tengami stands out thanks to its pop-up book-inspired design, offering a one-of-a-kind experience. As you venture through ancient Japanese folktales, the world literally unfolds like origami. You’ll fold, slide, and interact with the environment to reveal secrets and progress through puzzles.

Your journey takes you across misty forests, tranquil waterfalls, and forgotten shrines—all tied to a central mystery surrounding a mystical cherry tree. The tree is fading, and your quest is to discover what is causing its decline.

Tengami transports you into a living Japanese legend, brought to life through enchanting visuals and an immersive soundtrack. The music—composed by David Wise, known for his work on Diddy Kong Racing—perfectly complements the game's artistic beauty.

Will You Get Tengami?

Built entirely like a real papercraft world, Tengami captures the charm of pop-up books down to the smallest details. In fact, nearly everything you encounter in the game could be recreated physically with paper, scissors, and glue—adding to its authenticity.

Originally developed by Nyamyam and released in 2014, the game is now available on the Google Play Store via Crunchyroll. It's free for Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan subscribers.
