Confirmed: Marvel Rivals will be getting 2 heroes every 3 months

NetEase Games is committed to keeping Marvel Rivals fresh with regular updates. The plan is to release updates approximately every six weeks, introducing two new heroes each quarter. This ensures players always have new content to explore.

Game director Guangyun Chen revealed in an interview that each season's update is divided into two phases: a new hero is added in the first half, followed by another in the second.

This approach maintains player and audience engagement. Beyond new heroes, Marvel Rivals will also feature updates including new maps, storylines, and objectives. Previously announced characters include the upcoming Blade and Altron (revealed through leaks), with the Fantastic Four's full team also recently confirmed.

According to GameLook, a Chinese publication, the game generated approximately $100 million globally, with a substantial portion stemming from the Chinese market. This marks a significant move for Marvel, a film industry giant, into the gaming sector.

Marvel Rivals successfully filled a void in the hero-shooter genre, following the less-than-stellar reception of Square Enix's Avengers. NetEase delivered a high-quality heroic shooter boasting a compelling roster of characters, receiving positive reviews upon its initial release.
