Breaking News: Spotify Outage Reported

Heads up to all Spotify users — it looks like the popular music streaming service is experiencing a widespread outage this morning. According to Downdetector, reports of Spotify issues began rolling in around 6 a.m. PT on April 16, 2025, with continued disruptions at the time of writing. Many users, including ourselves, have been unable to access the platform for much of the morning. Even when the app opens, playback functionality appears to be compromised.

Spotify has officially responded to the situation, confirming that it's aware of the disruption and actively working on a fix. Additionally, the company has denied rumors suggesting the outage is linked to a cybersecurity incident, calling such claims entirely unfounded.
