As Black Myth: Wukong approaches its August 20 launch, producer Feng Ji has urged players to remain vigilant against spoilers following a significant leak of the highly anticipated Chinese action RPG.
With under a week remaining until Black Myth: Wukong's release, unauthorized gameplay footage has surfaced across online platforms. The trending topic "Black Myth Wukong Leak" gained momentum on China's Weibo platform after videos revealing unreleased game content appeared online.
In response to the leak, producer Feng Ji addressed the community through Weibo. His statement clarified that spoilers undermine the game's core appeal of discovery and immersive role-playing. The game's magic, Feng emphasized, depends on maintaining players' natural curiosity.
Feng further encouraged players to preserve this sense of wonder for others, asking fans to proactively avoid viewing and distributing leaked content. "If someone explicitly states they wish to avoid spoilers, please help safeguard their experience," he noted. He maintained confidence that "regardless of how much leaked material you've encountered, the game will still deliver its uniquely crafted experiences."
The title is currently available for pre-order and will release globally on August 20, 2024, at 10 AM UTC+8 across PS5, Steam, Epic Games Store, and WeGame platforms.
