Silksong Developer Reaffirms Release For Switch 1
Following Silksong's brief appearance at the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, fans speculated that the game might bypass the current generation and launch directly on the next-gen console. Originally announced in 2019 for PC and Switch 1, Silksong later expanded to include PlayStation and Xbox console releases.
On April 8, Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Handler, Matthew Griffin, took to Twitter (X) to address fans' concerns about the game's platform availability. Griffin confirmed that Silksong will indeed be released for both the original Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2.
While there are no official details on how these versions will differ, it's anticipated that the Switch 2 version will benefit from higher resolutions and enhanced features due to the console's improved capabilities.
New Silksong Images Revealed
Following the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2, fresh images of Silksong surfaced on Nintendo Japan's official website. Although the depicted locations are familiar from previous reveals, fans have noted subtle graphical enhancements since the initial 2019 showcase.
Despite Team Cherry's usual reticence regarding game details, Silksong's cameo in the Switch 2 Direct and the emergence of new images hint that a release date announcement could be imminent. Recent updates to Silksong's Steam metadata have further fueled fans' optimism for a release sometime this year.
