These rumors suggested that fans could expect announcements about classic God of War remasters. The excitement was further fueled by reports from insider and journalist Jeff Grubb, leading to heightened anticipation among the fanbase.

To manage expectations and provide clarity, Santa Monica Studio took to social media to address these speculations head-on. The studio released a statement, saying:

"Pantheons collide! We’re thrilled to present a lineup of Greek and Norse characters for this panel celebrating the 20th anniversary of God of War where we’ll reflect on the past two decades of the series. While fans won't be seeing any game announcements, they can look forward to new thematic artwork showcasing Kratos alongside Jörmungandr. Additionally, the event promises exciting appearances by actors from the God of War series, including Terrence Carson, who lent his voice to Kratos, and Carole Ruggier, known for her role as Athena. This special panel is set to take place on March 22.
