Feeling stuck with your character's build in *Avowed*? It's easy to feel that way, especially if you've chosen a class or allocated attributes that aren't quite working out for you. But don't worry, *Avowed* offers a respec system that allows you to tweak your character to better suit your playstyle. In this guide, I'll walk you through how to respec your character, abilities, attributes, and even your companions in *Avowed*.
Choosing the right character build at the start of a game can be challenging, as it's hard to predict what will be most enjoyable. That's where respecing comes into play. If you're not having fun with your current setup, it's time to consider a respec. In *Avowed*, I initially went for a full wizard build, but after getting overwhelmed in battles, I switched to a more balanced spellsword. As you progress, you might want to respec again to optimize your combat effectiveness and achieve your ideal build.
To respec your abilities in Avowed, head to the menu and select the “Abilities” section. At the bottom of the screen, you'll find the “Reset Points” option. The initial cost is 100 Copper Skeyt, which increases as you advance in the game. Click the button, confirm your choice, and pay the listed price. This action will reset all your ability points across all skill trees, except for the “Godlike” abilities, which are determined by in-game choices and cannot be changed.
If you're satisfied with your abilities but want to adjust your attributes, or if you're looking to overhaul your entire build, you can respec your attribute points. Navigate to the “Character” section in the menu. At the bottom, below the attribute names, you'll see a button with an associated cost, starting at 100 Copper Skeyt, which increases over time. Press the button, pay the cost, and you'll regain your Attribute points to reallocate as you see fit.
Want to respec your companion in Avowed? Open the menu, go to the Abilities section, and switch to the “Companions” tab. Under your companion's name, you'll see an icon that, when clicked, allows you to spend Copper Skeyt to respec. Confirm your choice, and you'll get all of your companion's points back. Remember, you'll need to respec each companion individually.
And that's how you can respec in *Avowed*. Whether you're tweaking your character, abilities, attributes, or companions, you now have the tools to create the perfect build for your adventure.
*Avowed is available now.*
