Ubisoft has unveiled an exciting new chapter for the beloved tactical shooter, Rainbow Six Siege, with the announcement of Rainbow Six Siege X. This isn't a new game but a significant update designed to enhance the gameplay experience as the game approaches its 10th anniversary. The reveal came just before the game's milestone, with more details set to be shared at an upcoming showcase in March 2025.

Rainbow Six Siege Showcase in March 2025

Rainbow Six Siege, a staple in Ubisoft's lineup since its launch in 2015, is set to receive substantial gameplay upgrades and refinements under the banner of Rainbow Six Siege X. The announcement was made by Ubisoft on February 17, 2025, with further details slated for release in the coming month.

The highly anticipated Rainbow Six Siege X showcase will take place on March 13, 2025, at 10:00 am (PDT) / 1:00 pm (EDT) in Atlanta, Georgia. This event will showcase the transformative changes planned for the game. "This event promises to be an immersive and one-of-a-kind Siege experience, where players, creators, and developers come together as we unveil all the evolutions coming with Siege X, and many more surprises!" Ubisoft promises.

For those eager to attend in person, tickets are available for USD $10, which includes an exclusive long-sleeve shirt and an in-game cosmetic pack. However, attendees must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Must be a legal resident of the USA or Canada
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must have a good Rainbow Six Siege account (not banned or sanctioned)

In addition to the general admission, Ubisoft is offering VIP packages to two lucky Rainbow Six fans, which include a hotel stay, roundtrip flight, and entry to the Showcase event. This giveaway is also limited to legal residents of the USA and Canada.

The upcoming update promises "new ways to play, deepened tactical gameplay, refined game feel, and major upgrades all around." However, the specifics of these changes will be fully revealed at the upcoming showcase.

Rainbow Six Siege Upcoming 10th Year Anniversary

Originally released on December 1, 2015, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, Rainbow Six Siege was later ported to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2020. Over the years, Ubisoft has consistently updated the game, solidifying its position as one of the longest-running live-service shooters across multiple platforms. The forthcoming major update could further extend the longevity of the Rainbow Six franchise.

In a Steam post dated February 17, 2025, Ubisoft introduced a new operator named Aurora, who can deploy bulletproof doors. The game will also feature a new elite skin for operator Aruni and a new reputation system that rewards or penalizes players based on their in-game behavior throughout a season. These additions will be part of Season 1 of the game's 10th year, dubbed Operation Prep Phase, launching on March 4, 2025, in celebration of the game’s 10th anniversary.

Given the timing of Season 10’s launch and the showcase for Rainbow Six Siege X, it appears the major updates will be implemented on the live servers at a later date.
